I see the church’s role as helping people to walk in their spiritual journey closer to God, and also to spread the message of God’s love for all of us in our actions and our words. I have found Cadishead a caring, welcoming community - being a minister here is a privilege. Before I came here in 2001, I spent four years as a curate in Bury. Before I became a minister, I was a marketing manager for Shell Chemicals, and used to work at Carrington - just the other side of the Manchester Ship Canal from where I am now. In my spare time I enjoy films, cricket, books and relaxing in front of the TV. I support Chelsea FC (it makes a change here from United or City). I am married to Ana, and we have twin daughters Lucy and Sophie, who were born in 2004, and another daughter Emily, born in 2007. |

Hi. My name is Christina Jones, and I have lived in Cadishead all my life. My husband Ian and I have been married for 43 years and we have 3 children - 2 boys and a girl - and 2 grandchildren. We have worshipped at St. Mary’s since 1963 and I have been a church warden for about 10 years as well as a governor at St. Mary’s school. I also arrange the altar flowers, sort out the social events that are held during the year and am involved with producing the parish magazine. I enjoy doing these and find spiritual fulfilment in doing them. In my spare time my hobbies include knitting and card making. |

Hi, I’m Ann and I have lived in Cadishead for thirty-four years. My two girls went to Irlam High. St. Mary’s Church - well I always call it my second home, it’s the place that I feel nearer to God; it’s the place that I go to for support when I am down, and it’s the place where I have had so many happy times. It can be your place as well. At the present time I am the deanery synod representative, sides-person and general help. |
